krak of dawn

Hosted by Putfile.com
On Aug 27 1883, after three massive explosions over the previous 16 hours, the volcanic island of Krakatoa suffers a final, inconceivably destructive blast. The noise is heard 3,000 miles away in Madagascar. Two-thirds of the island's land mass collapses into the ocean, and the resulting 175-foot tsunami wipes away 163 coastal towns and villages along the Sunda Straight, killing 36,417 inhabitants.
